Summary:

The goal of this Master Plan is to propose detailed solutions for Dougherty Valley Village Center as the hearth of the largest development in Contra Costa County during the period 2003-2010 (11,000 housing units; 5,979 acres of land). When fully completed, the village Center will provide services for to approximately 20,000 residents.

The Village Center is located over properties of two owners – Shapell Industries and Vindemere BLC. The planning solution is a result of collaboration between City of San Ramon, Contra Costa Community College District, the Developers, and the Architect.

The mixed-use Village Center is planned as the focal point of the community life. It offers a combination of high density residential, local serving retail, office and civic uses, plazas, and opens space. All buildings share a common architectural theme that unites the varied public facilities and places together with the surrounding housing developments.
